Private Birthday Party @ The Constitution Project Swansea

On the 16th November The Constitution Project hosted a private birthday party for Carol. She had invited friends over to celebrate her birthday but unbeknown to them she had booked the Secret Supper Club for all.
It was a big surprise to her guests though all had a fantastic time.
Below is some feedback from the evening including how The Constitution Project Swansea compares to other well known restaurants and establishments in the area.

"Have not stopped talking about Friday, wish we were doing it again this Friday"

"Thank you for a fabulous night on Friday we both really enjoyed ourselves.
I haven't stopped raving about the secret supper dining experience ever since.
We had wonderful food amid wonderful company arranged by wonderful friends!"

Jean Jeanie

"Everyone enjoyed the dinner party immensely, the excitement created by the secrecy of it all created a great buzz. Some of the party were scared especially the male guests I can't think why? It must have been the imagery created by their masks, now I have gained the trust of all and sundry.

The Supper Clubs are going to take off, in a big way, once the general public catch on to the thrill of private enterprise.

On a scale of 1 to 10 please see the following feedback regarding The Constitution Project Supper Club."

Food

Food, the last bastion in an ever increasingly commercial society. We love food at the Constitution Project but not solely because it's appetising, but because the of the social interaction that goes so perfectly with it.
Dinner parties in particular, a gathering of friends or like-minded people who share a simple but great experience. An interaction that breaks down barriers of class and opinion, a necessity turned indulgent.
This is what it is all about for us, providing a platform on which to take and make relationships to new levels, we're not talking keys in the bowl here, just simple, honest good quality chow.
The changing themes add to the theatre of life, affording those who participate a character to play and a play to be part of.
So, get involved, sign up and join the fun.

the low down.....

Where is it? The supper club will be held at a secret location just outside Swansea City Centre. The supper club will be set in an intimate and breathtaking setting.
What do I eat? The set menus are generally themed and will usually be compromised of an aperitif, starter, main course and dessert followed by cheeses then coffee/tea. There can be vegetarian options if you let me know in advance. Please email me if you have any special dietary requirements.
What about drinks? The event is bring your own wine, beer, or tipple of choice.
How much does it cost? We ask for a minimum donation of £25.00-35.00 dependent on the menu.
Kindly note that service charge is not included, therefore if you think we have done a cracking job, feel free to tip, if you think it was average or so so….. don’t. It is completely your call.
Do you require a deposit to secure a place?
Ahead of the event I ask all guests to send a deposit of £15.00 per person to be paid in advance to cover the costs of ingredients. This is supper club, and not a commercial restaurant and as a result, we can’t rely on walk in custom, we therefore use this as a way of securing your place.
Can I come by myself? Yes of course you can. Places are limited to 10-12 guests per event, and are offered on a first come first served basis. The supper club is a great way to meet new and interesting people, or relax and enjoy with your partner or pals.
Can I come and work at the supper club?
The Supper club is always delighted to hear from keen individuals who want to help host fabulous dinner parties. This is a great way to pick up cooking/ hosting skills.  Assistance is always well received, and in return, you will recieve a free dinner. You will also be able to engage with the supper club guests and practive your hosting skills and most of all have a cracking evening!! Email theconstitutionproject@raum.co.uk for more information.

With only 7 days and 18 hours to go until the start of Latitude Festival my taste buds are poised with the anticipation of all that fabulous festival food!!
Gone are the days when festival goers are expected to tuck into nasty fast food at exorbitant prices.

This year sees the return of 'Giant Robot' which means we can enjoy a proper sit down lunch or dinner, on a chair, at a table, with waiter service, a china plate and a real knife and fork. In a field. With a lovely bottle of wine and the sun shining. Perfect.

The variety on offer is astounding...I will be doing a culinary round the world trip during our 4 day camping extravagaza ...oh yeah, and listening to some music and comedy as well!!

It may sound barmy but the thought of spending hours and days researching recipe's to form a menu with which to feed 12 strangers in my home might just be my ultimate secret pleasure....OK...that really does sound mad!

My friends would tell you that I have permanently itchy feet, can't stop re-decorating, moving furniture (and sometimes even whole rooms) around and always, always have a project of some description on the go...this is the project of the year!

My plan is to host fortnightly or monthly supper clubs in our slightly eccentric but utterly delicious house. It's a relaxed informal way to meet new people, enjoy good food and wine without the hefty price tag that you'd pay in a restaurant for the same deal!

Our first event will be 10th August 2012....details and menu to follow soon!
